We can at this stage only confirm that we need Abstracts and Papers properly edited within August 20. Later on, some new papers could still be accepted (eventually also for oral presentation, if valid) but it will be impossible to include them in the proceeding's DVD. They will be inserted as downloadable documents in our web after the Conference.

The program of the sessions will be prepared as soon as we have a final confirmation of the presented papers and, eventually, of the new proposals.

As far as IEMES is concerned, due to logistic problems connected with the supply of exhibition booths to Langkawi, it has been decided to renounce to the booths arrangement shown earlier in the web.
We are proposing as alternative the availability of a “Company Corner” in the Bougainvillea Hall where to talk with the colleagues, show videos and films and present/discuss the company activity.
The new arrangement (inclusive of a 32” TV set) can be seen at the Company Corner page and includes the participation of 2 persons, two papers, a promotional page in the proceedings and the availability to present videos or films during the coffee breaks on the large screen in the Bougainvillea Hall.
The fee is given in the FEE page; a reduced promotional participation with 1 person and 1 poster is also foreseen.
Deadline for the registration and for the papers/promotional pages is August 20.

We remind also to provide to reserve the Hotel.

Extension of deadlines - June

Dear All

To give the possibility to other colleagues to supply their contribution, we have negotiated with our printer in Kuala Lumpur new terms for the preparation of the Abstract Booklets and of the Proceeding’s DVD.
We can therefore extend once more (but for the last time) the deadlines for the contributions and for the registrations as follows:
•July 10, 2010: Deadline for submittal of the Registration of new contributions. The new registrations shall be accompanied by the edited Abstract of the proposed paper. The Abstracts already presented may be revised and resubmitted (if the author considers it opportune) until this date.
•August 07, 2010: delivery of the edited paper
•August 14, 2010: latest delivery of the paper, revised as necessary.


The Pelangi Beach Resort has also agreed to extend the promotional rates to the end of June.

Dear Colleagues
We have been requested to give a further postponement of the deadlines to permit to all to provide their abstract or to modify or complete it.

This will enable also to receive contributions from new potential participants (or from the late ones).
The new deadlines are May 31 for the Abstracts and July 10/July 30 for the edited papers as indicated in the related web page.
We remind also that we are waiting the registrations to the IEMES Exhibition.


Another interesting subject has been anticipated by a new paper:
• Sustainable solutions for the dewatering, treatment and disposal of polluted marine sediments
If we will receive other papers on the same subject, we will collect them in a second workshop, to stimulate the discussion on the possible dewatering solutions.

As far as the organization, it goes on. As soon as we will have a more ample panorama of the contributions, we will start to prepare the session’s programs.
In parallel, we will, during May, complete the conference’s program with detailed information on the social events. Pls. keep an eye on the next Newsletter in the web.
