We can therefore accept “last minute papers” as indicated hereafter. Obviously you will be welcome to participate to the conference also without papers For the registrations pls. use the standard FORM.
DEADLINES
•August 10, 2010: Deadline for submittal of the edited Abstract of contribution. The Abstracts already presented may be revised and resubmitted (if the author considers it opportune) until this date. Abstracts received after August 10 will NOT be printed in the Abstract Booklet.
•August 20, 2010: delivery of the edited paper. Papers received after August 20 will NOT be included in the Proceedings.
Note: Papers received after August 20 may still be accepted for oral presentation but, as mentioned above, cannot be included in the DVD with the proceedings. They will however be inserted as downloadable documents in our MWWD web when the pages related to MWWD 2010 as “past conference” will be prepared.
| EDITING INSTRUCTIONS FOR ABSTRACTS AND PAPERS |
The editing instructions are directed to all authors/co-authors who have proposed or will propose a paper, either for oral or poster presentation, for presentation at the Round Table or in the special sessions, or a virtual paper.
The Deadlines for submittal are indicated above.
The titles of the accepted papers are/will be included in the Proposed Paper page and will remain in the same page till the conference date for easy access. As before, we will print a Conference’s hand-out volume with the “Abstracts”, including also the general conference information, program of sessions, keynotes etc. and to publish the complete documents and papers in a Proceeding’s DVD. The editing of the complete papers in electronic format gives to the colleagues the possibility to extend the size of the paper as necessary for a complete coverage of the subject and to insert more readable tables and figures (both black/white and in colour). The DVD will present an interactive indexing.
Pls. follow the editing instructions given here in preparing Abstracts and Papers. Abstract and Papers not meeting the instructions will be returned to the Author for re-editing. The Organization will NOT intervene with corrections or modifications. Abstracts and papers shall be sent only in electronic form by e-mail to organization@mwwd.org.
Abstracts The Abstracts shall include: - a precise, self explanatory final title. The title shall not be modified after submitting the Abstract - Name and Surname of authors and co-authors (name of the principal author to be underlined) - maximum 10 key-words sufficient to individuate the relevant topics - the text, to be limited to 2 (two) pages - full name and professional title of all authors, Organization of appurtenance, city, country, e-mail address (at the end of the second page). - Eventual logo and address of the organization (University, Company etc) - footer, with the filename as follows: A_MWWD2010_author_title [as “author”, only the surname of main author; as “title” a shortened version - max. 3-4 words – of the title, sufficient to define the subject]. (The same filename, with initial P_ shall be used for the edited paper).
The Abstracts shall NOT include - conclusions - they may be hinted in the text, but not given as such - formulas, figures, tables or pictures, unless the Authors consider one of them significant for the understanding of the Abstract. Eventual figures shall be black/white - end notes other than authors data - references
The editing shall be as follows: - page format: A5 - editor: MS Words - margins: upper 15 mm, lower 20 mm; sides 20/10 mm (mirror arrangement for front/back printing) - interline: single; - character: Calibri or equivalent, size as follows: title, 12, bold, center (capital letters only as necessary) – authors, 10, bold, center – keywords, 10, italic, regular, center – text (including the word Abstract), 9, regular, justified – endnote, 9, italic - paragraphs: spaced by single line, no indent - maximum 2 pages all included
In case the Abstract does not fill completely the 2 pages, the remaining space can be used to for a graphic insert (as *.jpg in greyscale) with logo and data of the University, Organization or Company.

Papers The editing instructions are summarized here. The publication in the Proceeding’s DVD, permits to the authors to: - use the necessary number of pages to completely describe their study/work - include as many figures, tables, diagrams, pictures as necessary. Figures, tables, diagrams, pictures shall be preferably in colour. - include logo and address of their University/Organization/Company and short CV as indicated in the sample The Papers shall include: - A header, with the indication of the Conference - The same final title included in the Abstract - Name and Surname of authors and co-authors (name of the principal author to be underlined) - maximum 10 key-words sufficient to individuate the relevant topics, without changes from the ones indicated in the Abstract - the text as separately indicated - full name and professional title of all Authors, Organization of appurtenance, address (facultative) city, country, e-mail address (as footnote in the first page) - footer, with the filename as follows: P_MWWD2010_author_title (surname_ (of main author) and subject (shortened title) shall be the same used for the Abstract). The editing shall be as follows: - page format: A4 - editor: MS Words - margins: upper 30 mm, lower 40 mm; sides 18/18 mm - interline: single - character: Verdana, size as follows: title, 14, bold, center (capital letters only as necessary) – authors, 10, bold, center – keywords, 10, italic, bold– paragraph headers, 10, bold, left, numbered if opportune - text, 10, regular, justified, - paragraphs: spaced by one single line, no indent - figures: to be either greyscale or colour, no particular prescription on the size - tables: minimum size (any character) 8 points - number of pages: up to a maximum of 20.
Note: All documents shall be transmitted by e-mail only. If the size exceeds 5Mb, the document shall be uploaded. Uploading instructions will be supplied at request.
Special abstracts and papers 1. KEYNOTE SPEECHES shall be submitted, if possible, before the end of July as a Word text, with the header “Keynote speech”. No limitation to the length is given. The author / presenter can supply it either in the Abstract format (A5) or in Paper format (A4). The eventual editing will be provided by the Organization. 2. Contributions to the ROUND TABLE The Abstracts shall meet the same requirements as for standard Abstracts. The related “papers” for inclusion in the Proceeding’s DVD can be presented, at choice of the participant, in one or both the following alternatives: - as the same presentation which will be given orally (in *.ppt). The presentation shall not be however too schematic, to permit a good understanding of the presented work - as a normal paper, eventually restricted as length 3. ABSTRACTS AND PAPERS OF EXHIBITORS Both Abstracts and Papers of the exhibitors shall meet the same requirements of normal Abstracts and Papers. 4. PROMOTIONAL PAGES The promotional pages to be printed in the Abstract booklet at the end of the Exhibitor’s technical paper shall respect the A5 format with margins as indicated. The pages shall be prepared as image or image+text in a Word file. The image shall be in *.jpg with good definition, in greyscale. For the insertion in the DVD, the page shall be in colour and in A4 page format. 5. POSTERS The colleagues who present a Poster Paper shall follow the general instructions for the editing. Their Poster shall present the following characteristics - horizontal dimension: 85 cm - vertical dimensions: 140 cm - paper: minimum 220-250 gr., matt to avoid reflections |
